We have a new opportunity to join the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) as our Grants Officer, supporting the delivery of a range of UK and international grant programmes. The Grantmaking Team sits within CAF’s Impact Accelerator, a hub bringing together CAF’s leading expertise in grantmaking, social investment, and impact advisory in order to support our clients to achieve even greater impact. You will be an integral member of an experienced and dedicated team, with the chance to work across a variety of programme areas, including the wider Impact Accelerator, gaining valuable experience in a multitude of grantmaking and impact-related approaches.
Our International Head office is based in Kings Hill, Kent, however our Grantmaking team is split across both our Kent and London office. You will be based in one of our offices, where you will initially be based full time for training and where you will be based part of your time in the office and part of your time working from home.
You will join us on a full time, permanent basis working Monday to Friday, 35 hours a week. Working hours are 9am to 5pm with an hour for lunch but flexibility is available.

As our Grant Officer your key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Grant Managers in the delivery of specific national and international grant programmes
- Responding to enquiries from applicants, grant holders and donors
- Day to day grant administration, maintaining accurate records and processes through grantmaking databases
- Preparing impact reports, presenting analyses and producing content on programme activities for internal and external purposes
- Contributing to new ideas and ways of working to develop equitable models, processes and use of technology to accelerate the impact of CAF’s grant programmes
Skills and experience required by our Grant Officer:
- Confident project management experience
- Significant knowledge and experience of the UK non-profit sector
- In depth experience of delivering community, national or international grant programmes
- Understanding and use of online grantmaking portals or databases
- High level of communication skills (written and oral) and ability to adapt to suit a wide range of UK and international audiences (donors, charities, decision-making panels)
