We are looking for Graduate /Year Out Landscape Architects to join our expanding team in Exeter. We are seeking talented individuals to help support the continued growth of the practice, working on a wide variety of projects across the UK. Whether you are looking for a year out post, a recent graduate or a graduate with a few years experience (i.e. 1-3 years, working towards chartership), we are keen to hear from you.
Our Exeter office has been established for around 15 years and includes a multidisciplinary team of young and enthusiastic staff who enjoy the lifestyle of being in this beautiful part of the country. Our current workload is very varied and includes green infrastructure design and implementation, public realm design, masterplanning and LVIA, for sites mainly focussed in the south west, but we do also work across the country. You will get a wide range of experience working on projects which have to address the challenges of working within the region which benefits from a number of designated landscapes with sites in varied and potentially sensitive locations from moorland to the coast. You will gain experience in all stages of project development from concept design to construction, supported by the experienced team. You would work alongside architects, ecologists, arboriculturists and graphic designers within the practice.
About the Role
You will be part of a forward-thinking, multi-disciplinary team of Landscape Architects, Graphic Designers and Urban Designers, working closely with our Architects, Ecologists, and Arboriculturists.
We have opportunities across the full spectrum of Landscape Architecture and Urban Design. The role of a successful candidate can be tailored to your unique skill set, whether this leans more towards landscape planning (including LVIA), focuses on landscape design and planting design, or encompasses all areas.
About you
To be successful in the role you will need to demonstrate the following capabilities and experience:
- A relevant graduate/ postgraduate qualification (depending on the role you are applying for)
- The drive to develop their career, by experiencing the whole spectrum of landscape work
- The ability to work as part of a team
- Excellent design communication skills
- Good organisational skills
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience of 2D and 3D CAD software. Vectorworks, LSS, Lumion and GIS experience would be desirable, although we will offer full training and support
- Good plant knowledge is desirable
- UK driving licence with access to (or willingness to obtain) a private car for site visits.
We provide software training and full mentoring and experience towards the Pathway to Chartership with support from our friendly and experienced team.
