You were born to provide brilliant animal care and we do that by empowering brilliant people like you. Join the IVC Evidensia Graduate Academy 2023 and find the very best start to your veterinary career.
About us
Our team are our priority. It's vital to us that people feel supported at work and enjoy working as part of a thoughtful, friendly team. We have 2 GDP Advisors, 2 trained Mental Health First Aiders and have regular informal chats alongside our well thought out mentoring program. Regular vets meetings support communication and being single site means we can work collaboratively to support each other clinically. We have wonderful facilities such as Ultrasound, Endoscopy, Routine multiparameter anaesthetic monitoring, acupuncture and behaviourist.
Our experienced and wise team is made up of 6 Vets (5 FTE) and 9 RVN’s (7FTE) who are all keen and looking forward to supporting a new graduate.
About the role
Your normal hours of work are 37.75 hours per week, usually over 4 days a week. Due to the particular needs of the business we need to operate a rota system, therefore there are no normal times of work applicable to you and your daily hours, start and finish times will vary from time to time on a rota system. The rota operates Monday to Friday inclusive. In addition, you will also be required to participate in a Saturday morning rota one weekend in 4.
We will assign our graduate to a GDP advisor with whom they have regular meetings and who they spend the most amount of time. Initially our graduates operate every morning with an experienced Vet to gain confidence in common surgical procedures whilst gaining consulting skills in the afternoon, supported by vets consulting alongside. We build skills carefully and positively and will tailor our program to the individual.
We support our Vets in enrolling for certificates when they are confident to after the GDP period.
