We are currently looking for a talented and motivated Graduate Transport Economist to join our expanding economic appraisal team in our Central London Eldon Street Office.

What does the role involve?

You'll support in the delivery of a wide variety of projects within a thriving multidisciplinary transport modelling and appraisal team for several key clients covering a range of activities from data analytics, transport economic appraisal including wider economic impacts, business case development, strategic multi-modal modelling and microsimulation through feasibility study to implementation.

You will take ownership and responsibility for the quality of work you produce, ensuring that work is delivered in line with the agreed timescales and ensuring you understand and comply with our Company Integrated Management system and all relevant health and safety legislation.

To be successful in this role you’ll possess:

  • A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Econometrics, Maths, Transport Planning/Studies, Civil Engineering, or a related subject.
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills and are passionate to find a quick, innovative and practical solution.
  • An understanding of the micro/macroeconomics, economic principles including transport economic appraisal and business case development.
  • Some knowledge or awareness of economic appraisal packages like TUBA, QUADRO, COBA-LT, WITA (Wider Economics) is preferred.
  • Some knowledge or awareness of traffic modelling software packages like LINSIG, PARAMICS, SATURN, CUBE, EMME, VISUM/VISSIM is preferred but not essential.
  • Programming skills in Python, R, C#, C++ but not essential and knowledge in GIS, SQL, MS Excel.
  • The ability to work on own initiative and seek assistance when required, organising and prioritising your workload to ensure that timescales are met.
  • The ability to communicate and work collaboratively to form strong positive working relationships with colleagues and clients and enjoy working in a team environment, sharing knowledge and demonstrate pride in work.

Training and support on technical knowledge, skills and behaviours will be provided locally at Team level.
