This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward thinking, progressive, specialist contractor involved in the design, manufacture, and installation of complete building envelopes. We are looking to appoint a Trainee Designer to our Design team.
The ideal candidate will have some design background, backed up with a design related qualification. This is a trainee position, so we will also provide on the job training.
About the role
As a Graduate Trainee Designer you will use CAD to design façade systems for commercial application, will analyse drawings to identify suitable specifications and products, support work on budgets and plan for production for projects in conjunction with suppliers. You will also assist in managing our document control systems.
You will analyse specifications and drawings and raise queries where data is not sufficiently supplied, or if there is any doubt present in the process with suppliers or other internal teams to help ensure that projects are managed effectively through to their conclusion.

What you need:
· 2:1 degree or higher, in any discipline
· 3 A levels or equivalent
· Strong GCSE grades, including Maths and English
· Right to work in the UK
· Good IT skills, and a confident user of Microsoft Office, including exposure to Excel
· Good knowledge of building control and construction, methods, and regulations
· Working knowledge of AutoCAD
· Knowledge of general construction principals
Desirable:
· 3D design experience (beneficial)
· Competent in the understanding of specifications and drawings within the fenestration industry
· Technical understanding of curtain wall, window and door manufacture, structural glazing, and scheduling
· Understanding of glass specification and selection
· Understanding of pressed aluminium manufacture and scheduling
· Experience within the fenestration industry
