Role title: Graduate Sustainability Consultant

About the role
As the Graduate Sustainability Consultant within Optimised; you will be operating within the Net Zero team within the Consulting division, responsible for delivering Net Zero advisory services for Optimised and our clients across all sectors.
Accordingly, you play an integral part in achieving the longer-term impact, growth and profitability vision for the business. This is an exciting opportunity, for someone passionate about sustainability, to help drive decarbonisation for our business and our clients.

What you’ll actually do
- Contribute to Net Zero client engagements; such as net zero strategy development, client workshops, carbon accounting, target setting, data management, reporting services and developing net zero transition plans.
- Contribute to Compliance engagements such as Climate Change Agreement (CCA) management, Energy Saving Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) compliance and Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR) reporting services.
- Help drive meaningful insights from energy and sustainability data analytics and identify carbon abatement opportunities for clients.
- Support information and knowledge management; writing and publishing thought leadership, climate policy updates, sustainability standards and frameworks updates that are relevant to our target markets
- Keep skills up to date, developing expertise in the role
- Provide a contribution to continuous collaboration and innovation, including attendance at Sector sales updates
- Lead and continue to evolve Optimised’s internal sustainability strategy and carbon reduction opportunities; serving on the internal Sustainability committee.
- Complete ongoing data capture and carbon accounting for Optimised, to ensure accurate emissions reporting throughout the year.
- Author Optimised’s annual Impact / Sustainability Report.
- Work to improve our B-Corp Impact Assessment ratings; in conjunction with HR and the Net Zero team.
- Support managers in the provision of Health, Safety and Wellbeing in the workplace.
- Ensure you act as a role model, work collaboratively, act professionally and enhance positive morale and well-being at internal/external events.
What you’ll need
- Degree level qualifications, or equivalent, within STEM
- Relevant experience in the energy or sustainability sector (desired but not essential)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with professionals across all levels, including senior executives
- Ability to plan, manage and deliver multiple client engagements
- Knowledge of sustainability software and their applications (desired but not essential)
- Strong project and time management skills
- Excel based analysis and written report writing skills
- Knowledge of climate related policy, regulation and voluntary reporting frameworks including ESOS, SECR, GHG Protocol and SBTi (desired but not essential)
- Eligibility to work in the UK
