Job description

We are seeking an experienced and highly capable administrator to provide day to day operational management of the Graduate Studies administration team. The postholder will be based within the Department of Engineering Science’s Student Administration Team and the primary responsibility is to manage all operational delivery of the Department’s Graduate programmes. This is a permanent post.
Keeping up to date with current developments in the HE sector, you will assist the Head of Student Administration in providing a high quality academic administration service to staff and students. You will assist with identifying trends, researching good practice, and identifying service shortfalls. You will anticipate service requirements and deliver innovative solutions to optimise service quality and efficacy, thereby improving staff and student satisfaction.
You should have previous experience of working in higher education student support or programme management and have demonstrable knowledge of systems and procedures for academic and/or student support. You should also have previous experience of line management or directing the work of other staff, achieving results through a team-based approach.
The Student Administration Office, based in central Oxford is the focus for student lifecycle support in the Department of Engineering Science, ranging from access & outreach activity, through on-course administration, to supporting the department’s alumni community.
The postholder will be expected to spend the large majority of their working hours on site.
