We are the world’s leading global information services company. Our approach to flexible working
We care about work that works, whether that’s about where you work or adjusting your hours to fit better with your life. Our flexible working practices, including our hybrid working model where you can split your working time between the office and your home, support our belief that this balance brings long-lasting benefits for our business as well as ensuring that our people can balance successful careers with their commitments and interests outside of work. So that you can love where you work, please discuss what works for you with your recruiter during the hiring process.
Accepting you, for you.
We want you to feel accepted for who you are and to feel safe, valued and to help us build a culture of true belonging. Experian is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and we take affirmative action to create a more inclusive and equitable world of work. We are committed to equal employment opportunities regardless of age, disability, gender identity, marital status, race, ethnicity, faith or belief, sexual orientation, socioeconomic background, Veteran status or whether you’re pregnant or on family leave.
Life as a Software Engineer is all about creating products using cutting edge tech. As a Graduate at Experian, you’ll work in one of our business areas, gain exposure to our exciting work and help to build products for the future.
Working with our supportive and collaborative teams, you’ll have the opportunity to learn and develop key Software Engineering skills. Depending on the team you join, you could be working in front-end, back-end and/or full stack development utilising languages such as Javascript, HTML, CSS, C#, Python or .NET amongst others! You can also expect to dabble in cloud computing platforms such as Azure, AWS or Google Cloud.
Whilst coding is an important part of being a Software Engineer, at Experian the job is so much more than that. For example, day to day you can also expect to be problem solving, brainstorming and developing solutions with your team and attending meetings such as stand-ups and planning sessions. We’re looking for students who are curious, passionate about what they do and excited to try new technologies. Throughout this role, communication skills are also important as you’ll be working with a variety of people and may have to translate technical work to non-technical stakeholders.
If you want to apply your technical skills to real-world scenarios and help Experian unlock new opportunities for our clients and consumers, then this is the graduate programme for you! We invest in the future of our business and technology to ensure our products and platforms are robust, maintainable and scalable. That’s why you can also expect to experiment in emerging technologies and techniques that help keep our products, processes and pipelines modern, effective and efficient.
If you choose to join us, you’ll receive industry training, wide-reaching career opportunities and a wealth of support through our Early Careers Network, buddy, line manager & mentor scheme. You’ll also join onto our 2-year structured Graduate programme, which is packed with workshops, short-courses & online material designed to help kick-start your career.
Our concept is simple. We believe in expanding horizons – it’s what makes Experian a global leader and a Top UK Tech Employer.
Due to the technical nature of the role, we’re looking for students with a passion for technology. Our Software Engineering Graduates have usually studied for a Bachelor’s degree in a STEM related field such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics etc. However, if you don’t have a degree in those fields that’s OK! Maybe you’re a bedroom coder or simply a tech enthusiast. If you have a genuine passion for tech and can demonstrate an understanding of how and where it can be used, we’d love to hear from you!
We look for driven, reliable students eager to take on real responsibility and who have recently achieved or are on track to achieve a minimum 2:2 degree classification.
