The Grad DDaT Scheme is the first IT specific grad scheme the NHS has created and has grown from a London pilot in 2018 and is now a national scheme recruiting over 100 grads every year. The Grad DDaT Scheme is a demand led scheme and recruit’s grads all year round for a every type of NHS organisation within the NHS and offers graduates to Local Authorities and third sector organisations, that work in the health and social care space. Funded by Health Education England the scheme builds the NHS talent pipeline in digital, data and technology roles.
We have a great maternity cover opportunity which has arisen, to join the revolutionary NHS Grad DDaT Scheme programme team for a fixed term contract – maternity cover, as the Graduate Recruitment Project Manager. This is a key senior role within the Grad Scheme, which requires a wide range of recruitment specialist skills and acumen to be the graduate recruitment lead for the scheme.
The post holder will be responsible for delivering the recruitment strand of the programme to ensure the delivery of a responsive client-centered recruitment workforce improvement initiative. This involves leading the recruitment of all graduates in designated regions, ensuring a pipeline of high-quality graduate candidates and ensuring the delivery of a high-quality graduate scheme and, business objectives are met within their business area.
This is an autonomous externally facing senior level post, working directly with CIOs, Directors and other senior managers within health and social care stakeholder organisations e.g. Acute Trusts, Mental Health Trusts, Community Care Trusts, GP practices, community services and voluntary sector providers.
The post holder is responsible for the delivery of the recruitment function and line managers a Senior Project Officer.
Significant experience in large scale recruitment, throughout the end-to-end recruitment cycle including engaging with senior hiring managers and conducting skills analysis. Candidates do not necessarily need to have NHS experience, but significant experience in recruiting for the whole range of IT Digital, Data and Technology roles is a must. Significant experience in managing national continuous professional development (CPD) training is desirable.

- Responsible for delivering the recruitment and onboarding strand of the programme, to recruit high quality graduates for a highly skilled technical recruitment support service and ensuring business objectives are met within their business area
- Establish a long-term pipeline of graduate talent from Universities into the NHS and wider social care, through third-party suppliers and direct relationships
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation and NHS AfC policy
- Responsible for the design, delivery and continuous improvement of the CPD strand of the Grad DDaT Scheme
- Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with all stakeholders, internal and external to ensure the workforce projects are implemented effectively and efficiently
- Responsible for the development, delivery and coordination of their designated across their region(s)
- Coordinate their projects to ensure implementation of the projects and report on progress with the Head of Service , to the HEE DRP Programme Board and other governance structures as appropriate
