Clean Energy Capital (CEC) is a leading developer and operator of large-scale renewable energy assets, providing direct access to affordable green energy for UK Large Power Users (LPUs). Since its establishment in September 2021, CEC has experienced remarkable growth, expanding its team from 3 to 22 employees and is now led by a highly experienced management team with 75+ years' of expertise in renewables and power.

CEC specialises in utility-scale 'behind-the-meter' projects, ranging from 5MWp to 80MWp, with a qualified pipeline of c.3.3 GWp. The company has gone from strength to strength, having already secured two rounds of funding, and will complete a large institutional raise at the end of 2023 that will enable it to build out the pipeline.

CEC is looking for a driven, entrepreneurial and passionate individual that will support the business, enabling it to be the market leader in the UK and facilitate its expansion into international markets.

This role will sit within the Land Team and support the Associates with the full land acquisition cycle, that includes site identification, site appraisal, landowner engagement and option/lease negotiation. Additionally, the successful applicant will be required to support the business with ad hoc work that is typical of a high growth start up.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identifying LPUs to target and qualifying leads.
  • Analysing land using CEC's inhouse methodology focusing on planning and land constraints.
  • Supporting landowner engagement, external agents and legal representatives.
  • Maintain CRM with relevant data.
  • Understand and operate the financial model.
  • Collaborate and align with the Commercial Team.
  • Assist and conduct market analysis to support senior management.
  • Assist the business through ad hoc tasks typical of a start-up.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Degree educated (RICS accredited degree in Renewable/Real Estate/Planning or Masters/PhD preferred).
  • Knowledge of the UK planning system.
  • Ability to speak a second language other than English (German, Spanish, French) - preferred but not essential.
  • Ability to think strategically, understand detail, create and drive value-enhancing initiatives.
  • Ambition to join a fast-growing company and work in a small team.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and relationship building skills.
  • Have an interest in renewable energy.

The role will be based in the company's office in Marylebone, Monday to Friday. Normal working hours are 9:00am-5:30pm.
