What you will do:
Johnson Controls’ Global Marine & Navy organisation has unrivalled experience in providing complete life safety and asset integrity services to the marine and offshore sector worldwide.
We help protect 90% of the world’s top marine, renewables and oil & gas companies for all types of assets and facilities, including naval vessels, commercial transport, drill ships, production platforms, offshore windfarms, passenger and cruise ships.

We are therefore delighted to be recruiting for three Graduate Project Managers to join our UK team as part of our continuing commitment to Operational Excellence and High-Performance.
Our Graduate Project Managers will embark on a 2½ rotational programme within three of our UK teams operating in new build markets in the Navy, Oil & Gas and Renewables sectors. This will include working with global commercial and naval customers to deliver high-quality projects such as:
Fire detection, protection and suppression systems
HVAC and Refrigeration systems
Bespoke wellhead control systems
The successful candidates may also have to opportunity to experience our operations in Europe, specifically with our Navy team in Nantes / Saint-Nazaire.
Working as part of our teams based in Manchester, Norfolk and Basildon the successful candidates will develop their project management and engineering skills working alongside subject matter experts on live long-term projects, helping to co-ordinate execution through to their conclusion. This will include office and site-based activities.
This will include resource planning and co-ordination, procurement and supply-chain engagement, cost control and monthly forecasting, and achieving budgeted revenues and gross margins – all within our primary responsibility of achieving Zero Harm. You will also be actively encouraged to bring your academic experiences and learnings to bear to drive continuous improvement and develop new ways of working that deliver even more successful outcomes for customers and stakeholders.
How you will do it:
This is a 2.5-year rotational program. You will move between 3 locations within this timeframe.
Project Managers are responsible for maintaining a close working relationship with the Contracts Manager, execution, and functional teams to review, improve and successfully achieve objectives.
You will record, monitor, and advise the Contracts Manager of any defects and specification deviations.
You are jointly accountable for large-scale projects, on time, within budget and in a professional manner.
You will manage and co-ordinate teams of JCI Engineers and sub-contractors whilst on site.
Conduct regular safety and quality audits on site with your engineers and sub-contractors to ensure that all activities are conducted in accordance with defined procedures.
Monitor Health & Safety of allocated staff and Sub-Contractors, ensuring compliance with all legislation with the aim of achieving Zero Harm.
Managing of method statements, risk assessments and toolbox talks on all projects.
During the projects you will manage and conduct commercial negotiations and execution of contract terms as required by the project.
What we look for :
Required
· BSc or MSc in Project Management or Project Management and Engineering.
· Mobility during the 2½ year programme cycle.
· Desire to accelerate learning and career development.
· Excellency in verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience.
· Work authorisation for the UK
· Ability to work full time for the entire program
Preferred
· Aptitude in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience of project management software applications (e.g. MS Project, Windchill etc).
