Job description
We are now seeking entrants from the 2023 cohort of Graduate Paramedics to join our NQP programme, where you will be supported in your transition to autonomous clinical practitioner and progression into the role of Qualified Paramedic (band 6).
Whilst we'll teach you to respond on blue lights, you will already be preparing for the transition from Student Paramedic to NQP, be in the process of completing your Degree or Diploma in Paramedic Science and be in the process of achieving your HCPC registration. Without question, you will have a real passion for patient care, together with excellent communication and people skills. You will be a committed team player and relish the opportunities to take decisive action in a rewarding and challenging career where no two days are the same.
In return, we are keen to support your development and individual career ambitions, with access to high quality training, CPD opportunities and an annual Personal Development Review to ensure that you too can be your best.
Please note that holding a full C1 license at the point of application is not an essential requirement for the Graduate Paramedic post, however, all successful applicants must pass the C1 driving test and an internal driving assessment before commencing in post with us. In addition, the Trust will only accept applicants who hold a maximum of 3 penalty points and no previous convictions for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
The Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust will provide you with a range of opportunities to provide care for patients within the community.
In Gwynedd you will have access to a comprehensive range of pathways to support the delivery of local care.
You will also have direct access to the Paramedic Pathfinder tool to assist you in your clinical decision making, and receive support from our growing number of Advanced Paramedic Practitioners. Our Emergency Ambulances are also amongst the best equipped in the UK, giving you scope to practice across a full case-mix of patients and developing your clinical skills.
In order to progress your application, please tell us why you're keen to join us as a Graduate Paramedic, together with details about your experience and skills for the role.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply
