Working in partnership with the NHS, Blatchford provides the orthotic service across Derbyshire, where we now have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Orthotist to support our clinics across the region. Your key focus will be on clinics in Derby, Buxton, and Chesterfield, along with several additional satellite clinics.
This is a highly varied role where you will treat a wide range of patients, including diabetics, paediatrics and be involved in spinal work.
The role:
Joining this strong multi-disciplinary team, you’ll have the opportunity and support to develop your clinical skill and experience to contribute to the delivery of a first class Orthotic Clinical Service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting a caseload of clients with a wide range of conditions and recommending the best course of intervention.
- Effectively communicating to allow informed patient consent, discussing the reasons for the prescription.
- Assessing, measuring, casting, fitting, suppling, reviewing, and adjusting orthoses as required.
- Maintaining appropriate clinical notes and records
- Qualified in Prosthetics/Orthotics
- HCPC registration
- Able to prioritise and manage own workload.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, capable of communicating with colleagues at all levels
- Good judgment and decision-making skills
- Member of BAPO/ISPO (desirable)
