As such we have created a Monitored Professional Development Scheme (MPDS) that is accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE).
As a valued member of our experienced Engineering team, you will pursue a four-year IMechE accredited MPDS dedicated training plan which will include experience in practical, commercial and engineering departments to prepare you for the application for professional Chartered Engineer (CEng) / Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status qualification.
Following the four-year programme you will be a fully qualified engineer and have the opportunity to continue your career development across the Group both within the UK and with the potential for international secondments to support our global organisation.
These positions are currently available within our Score Europe and Score Diagnostics divisions . The MPDS will be the same for both areas of the business. However, the day-to-day duties will differ slightly as is out lined in the “primary responsibilities” below.
What we are looking for
We’re looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated graduates who have achieved MEng or BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering, who can work on their own and alongside our experienced Engineering team, solving the complex technical issues associated with valves and related products.

Primary Responsibilities
Score Europe
- Design reviews including liaising with clients
- Failure analysis including improvement recommendations
- Materials review and selection
- Component re-design including the utilisation of Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
- Design and verification of bespoke integrity solutions including the utilisation of FEA
- Development of procedures for offshore/onsite implementation of Engineered Solutions
- Control valve sizing calculations
- Control valve trim design
- Valve strip down and inspections
- Valve assembly and pressure testing
Score Diagnostics
- Analysis and interpretation of client's data using V-MAP® Valve Condition Monitoring system
- Carry out and analyse results from Acoustic Emission (AE) Valve Leak Detection surveys with MIDAS Meter®
- Participation in study and concept development work including Research and Development; Cost estimating and planning of projects
- Preparation of design documentation, calculations and reports for customer and Score projects
- Preparation of specifications; Participation in system assembly, construction, and commissioning activities
- Gain experience in hazardous area requirements for petrochemical environments
- Gain experience of diagnostic methods
Qualifications
- MEng or BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering (graduated or due to graduate 2023) is essential
Experience
- Previous experience solving mechanical issues either employed or as a hobby is desirable
- Previous work experience is preferred (doesn’t have to be directly relevant to discipline)
