About the Role:
We are looking for an intern who is passionate about cybersecurity to join our Information Security team as an intern for 9 months to work as a Cyber Security Application Security & Vulnerability Management Analyst starting September 2023. The location for this role is our Livingston Facility.As Gore grows globally and continues to innovate, the need to build the Information Security team continues. Gore’s Information Security program is critical in creating and implementing solutions that accomplish Enterprise Information Security objectives and Business objectives. In this role, you will have the opportunity to really grow your knowledge of cyber security. You will partner with Application Owners and System Administrators to perform security assessments and learn how to identify and remediate high risk vulnerabilities. Working closely with the IT Operations teams, desktop administration, system administrators, corporate IT, and the broader information security team.
- Learn to perform application security, network, and web-based vulnerability assessments to identify and drive remediation of identified security weaknesses
- Partner with relevant IT groups to drive remediation of identified security issues
- Analyse specific threat data relating to disclosed vulnerabilities and prioritise the remediation based on the internal/external threat landscape
- Assist with the maintenance and support of the deployed vulnerability management solutions
- Support the evaluation of potentially compromised systems to determine vulnerabilities used to exploit them
- Learn how to produce metrics and dashboards to demonstrate effectiveness of vulnerability management efforts
- Support the project to maintain Gore UK and Gore Germany Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus certification
- Input to continuous improvement of our Cyber Essentials certification process
Qualifications:
- Degree educated in either Information Security or Information Systems
- The potential to develop strong technical diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Willing, keen and eager to learn about cyber security
- Comfortable working in a collaborative environment as part of a cybersecurity team and ability to effectively partner with a variety of global stakeholders
- Committed to continual updating of technical skills and awareness of current security best practices and standards
