Innovation and Improvement Coordinator

We are recruiting for a Graduate Innovation and Improvement Coordinator to join our team here at Align.
Reporting to the Head of Innovation and Improvement you will coordinate activities to ensure projects move through the innovation pipeline in a timely manner. The role will also include supporting your line manager with Align’s Perform.C1 Lean programme which engages in project critical missions to increase customer value and reduce non-value add activities across the construction value stream.

About you
You’ll ideally hold a degree (or equivalent) in relevant field such as Civil Engineering, Construction or Business Administration, with demonstrable experience working in a large civil infrastructure project, coupled with a real passion for innovation and continuous improvement
Knowledge of Lean principles would be advantageous, not essential as training will be provided.
You’ll be a self-starter with a strong ability to work on own initiative, all whilst working juggling multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
You’ll have strong interpersonal, adaptive, collaborative, stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills.

About our opportunity
- Work with Align and client stakeholders to develop innovations and grow the Align portfolio
- A visible role with client facing duties
- Use existing communications channels to positively advertise the benefits of innovation and improvement
- Supporting innovation and Lean champions to deliver on their specific missions
- Provide general Admin duties, such as taking minutes, maintaining the innovation tracker, desktop research, reporting, presentations, preparation of Gate 0 papers and innovation plans, drafting communications and capturing benefits
- Any other activities to deliver on Align’s strategic objectives
About you

The C1 Package includes the following elements:
- The iconic Colne Valley Viaduct which is a “structure of international significance”; 3+ km long and spanning the lakes of the Colne Valley (architectural images can be found online).
- Chiltern Tunnels – 2 x 16km long tunnels through the Chiltern Hills
- Western Valley Slopes (South Portal) – 2.5km of earthworks including the TBM launching portal and main compound in Maple Cross housing the TBM plant and equipment, main offices and tunnel/viaduct pre cast yards
- 5 x Ventilation Shafts at Chalfont St. Peter, Chalfont St. Giles, Amersham, Little Missenden and Chesham. Shaft depth between 35m-65m with diaphragm walls up to 80m deep. Headhouses at each location.
