Key responsibilities in this role:

Your role will be in the Management Accounts team, in a position that acts as a bridge between Management Accounts and the Accounts Payable team. The two teams working cohesively is paramount to the wider success of the Finance function to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to management.

In this role, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with monthly financial closing to ensure the numbers we report are accurate
  • Assisting the Finance Manager in the development and on-going execution of the company’s financial controls
  • Working with teams across the business to understand their operations and processes
  • Completing regular bank reconciliations and processing credit card transactions
  • Ownership of regular international VAT submissions in order to meet rigid deadlines
  • Engaging with external auditors to ensure financial controls are communicated effectively
  • Reviewing and approving non-stock invoices, managing complex queries using Excel and liaising with suppliers to resolve issues
  • Learning how to use SQL, the language we use to access our database, to analyst financial results and find new ways of making the finance team more efficient
  • Supporting the Finance team to ensure the wider team achieves departmental objectives

  • Confident in using Microsoft Excel (using sumifs, index match)
  • An effective communicator in both written and verbal English
  • Mathematically minded
  • An independent logical thinker
  • Eager to develop your skills and learn new things

Nice to have but not essential:

  • Work experience within a finance department
  • An understanding of internal and external financial reporting
  • A desire to study towards an accounting qualification
  • Experience with SQL
