We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Analyst to join our Mobility Services team. The Technology Group directorate within SLC provides secure and resilient technology solutions required to support SLC’s operations and business objectives. This position sits within the Mobility Services Team, within Infrastructure and Operations, provisioning capabilities and services on behalf of the organisation. The Mobility Services team is the responsible for the management and upkeep of the physical and virtual Desktop Platform operating an Evergreen model to ensure this is maintained in line with vendor updates.
As a Graduate Analyst, working within the Desktop team, you will support the successful delivery of team objectives by:
- Management and maintenance of the Desktop platform – this includes Application packaging and deployment, Desktop Build, security patching, group policy management and use of toolsets including Intune and SCCM.
- Management and ownership of key processes including Desktop Build, Evergreen, security patching, application packaging and deployment.
- Support for the Desktop Platform in conjunction with colleagues in Desktop and other parts of the Technology Group
- In collaboration with Desktop and Architecture colleagues provide and sustain the strategies for the on-going development of the Desktop Platform
SLC offer a blended working model which will typically be a rotational pattern of 2 days in the office and 3 days from home one week and 3 days in the office and 2 days from home, the following week.
Our Graduate Programme is a three-tier programme:
In-role development with a structured development plan, defined objectives and competencies. Out of role development, including specific learning outcomes tailored to Graduate programme Self-directed learning
We also provide tailored, wrap around support to Graduates which form 4 pillars; manager, mentor, buddy, peers.
What you bring:
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to learn on the job
- Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to adapt to an ever-changing digital landscape
- Self-motivated with the ability to learn new concepts and skills quickly
- Good time management skills
- Good communication skills, written, verbal and presentation skills gained through experience or academic achievements
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships evidenced by previous experience or academic achievements
- Ability to manage and prioritise own work and deliver to strict deadline
Knowledge or awareness of the following would be desirable:
- Previous knowledge of Desktop Technology
- Understanding of agile methodology and experience in working in an agile environment
- Exhibits a working knowledge of ITIL
