Job description

In Deals we solve the important problems that stand in the way of value being created, sustained, realised or protected for our clients – working together to aid responsible recovery and growth. Working on iconic deals with national and global clients, we put together major mergers and acquisitions and resolve business crises – from international take-over bids to financial crime investigations and cases of insolvency. We draw upon our deals experience across many industries to support and partner with our clients, to positively impact society and the communities in which we operate.

As our world continues to evolve, so do we. Having a responsive and bold technology strategy is key to remaining relevant with our clients. But we don’t just invest in the latest technologies, we help to create them with our unique ecosystem of technologists, working together to solve complex business problems in ways that benefit clients and society. It’s work with purpose and it drives us to innovate. We’re at the forefront of change, driving technology and skills and investing in our people and our purpose.

Forensic Technology – Forensic Investigative Analytics
Our Forensic Technology team helps clients manage vast amounts of electronic data and navigate the legal and business processes that are mandated by critical events

Prevention is even better; knowing where vulnerabilities are and managing the risks involved. When disputes or regulatory investigations arise, a timely resolution relies on organisations being prepared. And this is what we help our clients with every day.

You can join us in the following team:

Forensic Investigative Analytics
In an increasingly digitised world, instances of fraud and electronic crime are becoming more and more common. Forensic Data Analytics involves the analysis of data in order to discover meaningful patterns, measure historic events or predict the likelihood of future ones. Much of our work requires us to analyse vast quantities of electronic data, using cutting edge technology and advanced statistical techniques to extract meaningful insights for our worldwide clients. As we operate in an environment where speed of response is often critical to our clients, we are constantly innovating and drawing on the very latest technologies.

Programme

Our graduate training programme is underpinned by a development framework that broadens and deepens your knowledge. You'll learn from hands-on coaching and an outstanding variety of work, picking up business, personal and technical skills you can use across the network, and throughout your career.

What you'll do

You will work alongside industry-recognised specialists in computer forensics, electronic discovery, information governance and disclosure. Much of our work centres on the analysis of large volumes of electronic data. And because we operate in an environment where speed of response is often critical to our clients, you’ll be constantly innovating and drawing on the very latest technologies. Our engagements frequently involve us working in cross-border teams alongside regulators, legal advisers and across other parts of our wider business – providing opportunities for international travel too (subject to government advice/guidelines).

What you'll gain

When you join the Forensic Technology team you’ll receive training in a wide range of technical and non-technical skills. This can include data manipulation techniques, machine learning, big data technologies, programming and advanced data visualisation training and certifications. We’ll also encourage you to attend in-depth training led by our technology partners based on your individual development needs.

Join us and you'll get to work alongside leading professionals in fields such as Big Data, Predictive Analytics, Machine Learning and Data Visualisation. You could be looking for hidden patterns within the global payments of a bank accused of money laundering, searching for evidence of fraud and abuse within a company’s finance system or helping to identify illegal activity within millions of transactions. You may also be researching new tools and technologies and developing new propositions to take to our clients.

As a valued member of the team you will gain exposure to a wide variety of analytical techniques, providing you with a solid foundation for your career in data analytics.

What you'll need

If you are naturally inquisitive, have an analytical mind and enjoy solving problems, we would be interested in talking to you. Candidates should also be prepared to travel as some of our opportunities can require team members to work at other PwC offices or client sites across the UK or overseas on a temporary basis.

You'll need to have achieved or be on track to pass an undergraduate degree or above in a STEM related degree (Science/Technology/Engineering/Maths) and demonstrate a passion for a career in technology and how organisations use it. We determine whether you're on course to pass based on the grades you achieved in your last completed year of academic study.

Our work is technical and successful candidates should be able to evidence experience in one or more of the following competency areas:
Emerging technologies (e.g. Contract Lifecycle Management, RPA, Machine Learning, Blockchain).
Data analysis (for example using SQL/Python).
Data visualisation.
Programming or scripting experience.

Do you need a work permit?
Please take some time to confirm your eligibility for the role. We welcome applications from all candidates but there are restrictions to some areas of our business and some points you should note on our website.

Please note that PwC is unable to sponsor any candidates for some roles as the Home Office’s eligibility criteria will not be satisfied. For a list of these roles, please review the ‘Important information’ section of the work permit page on our website.
