We are currently recruiting for an Applications Governance Analyst to join our team. This role will be responsible for supporting the implementation of UK Corporate Reform across the Group Applications.
This role will be responsible for the effectiveness of the Control Framework related to these applications, providing management status on the design and operating effectiveness of these controls. There will be a close working relationship with the Business Support and Continuity, along with the other members of the support teams to ensuring a consistent and robust approach to Applications Management.
This will be a hybrid role; you will need the ability to travel to The Point (London) and other locations when needed.
- Reporting into the Group IT Applications Director in supporting the business to understand and implement systems controls and best practice governance.
- Highlight any data challenges and/or data quality issues, then work closely with the wider teams to develop and implement resolutions to these challenges.
- Ensuring Governance is always considered on projects to support modernisation and development of our core systems.
- Support business owners to deep dive into problems to identify control weaknesses
- Perform controls testing across all key controls where needed and in conjunction with internal audit and non-key controls in line with the published RACI.
- Work with senior leadership on any risk issues flagged and act as a point of contact for any escalations
- Support the continuous improvement of processes through standardisation, simplification, de-duplication and, where appropriate, enhancement.
- Develop and maintain a Group Applications Data Governance risk and issues log.
- Support Internal Audit cycle as needed.
- Maintain schedule of annual activities supporting the 1st Line of Defence.
- Significant experience of implementing and managing risk management frameworks
- Ability to generate succinct and impactful conversations that combines technical knowledge and business ‘easy to understand – non- jargon' language
- Experience of working in a Data Governance/Business Analysis or Compliance team.
- Diligent, self-starter used to working with large volumes of data and have an eye for detail
- A knowledge of GDPR and similar legislation is preferable, including the impending UK SOX legislation
- Stakeholder engagement skills, management, and collaboration
- Strong organisational skills (contribution to meeting agenda and content, co-ordination of returns from across the Group)
- Experience of business analysis and process modelling
- Designing, implementing, and reviewing security and process controls
- Experience of core ERP and / or business systems
- ACCA/CIMA or equivalent Certifications (Desirable)
