The role

A key member of the marketing team, the Graduate Content Writer will work alongside the Digital Marketing Executive to deliver engaging and factual content for inbound marketing activity.

Whether you’re writing our monthly newsletter, ensuring our website is SEO-optimised, or interviewing subject matter experts for new and exciting blog ideas, your ability to write clear, concise, and engaging content will be key.

Of course, you'll need to demonstrate your ability to write first-rate copy, but we're also looking for evidence that you can multitask, have meticulous attention to detail, and collaborate effectively with colleagues.

This role is designed for development and growth, so you can expect to continue learning whilst you grow your career and soak up plenty of hands-on content marketing experience.

About you

  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organisational skills.
  • Strong research skills with experience in liaising with third parties to develop relevant content.
  • Familiarity with persuasive writing methods, as well as how to relate to different audiences.
  • The ability and willingness to learn and write about technical subject matters making them easy to understand (experience producing content relating to complex or technical subjects is desirable).
  • A great communicator with strong interpersonal skills, excited to present new ideas and interview subject matter experts.
  • Comfortable working both collaboratively and autonomously.
  • A keen eye for detail.
  • Full driving licence.

Your responsibilities

  • Researching your subject matter to develop and deliver an array of engaging, exciting, and useful content containing accurate and timely information across multiple channels such as: website, blogs, email, e-books, ‘how to’ guides, case studies, brochures, social media, and newsletters.
  • Utilising SEO software, conducting research, and collaborating with our in-house experts to produce content for our website and inbound campaigns (software training will be provided).
  • Ensuring the content you are creating talks to our ideal client’s problems and needs, whilst subtly positioning Pennington Choices as the experts and solution.
  • Reviewing and re-writing content of a technical nature to be more accessible to a wider audience.
  • Generating ideas for new content through research on industry-related topics.
  • Developing our brand language and ensuring brand consistency (style, fonts, images, and tone of voice) across all forms of marketing collateral and communications.
  • Working with our Digital Marketing Executive to ensure website content is up to date and SEO optimised, and to develop social media campaign ideas.
  • Organising and recording webinars and podcasts with our in-house experts.
  • Developing strong working relationships with key internal stakeholders, with the ability to manage the timely and efficient delivery of inbound marketing campaigns.

  • A competitive salary banding from £22,000, however this can be negotiable depending on experience.
  • Salaries are reviewed annually in line with performance reviews, you will have a clear salary plan linked to your personal development plan.
  • Flexible hours and hybrid working available, with 1 day a week spent at our Head Office.
  • The business is closed between Christmas and New Year.
  • 26 days annual leave (3 days allocated over the Christmas shut down) plus 8 days Bank Holidays. If a part-time role these will be pro-rata..
