GP with a Specialist Interest in Education and Training – Blaenau Ffestiniog Health Centre

The Primary and Community Care Academy in north Wales in partnership with Blaenau Ffestiniog Health Centre is developing a Multi Disciplinary Practitioner Training Hub in rural North West Wales to offer a range of training and learning opportunities for the current and next generation of primary and community care practitioners.
This practice is based in a purpose-built building which houses the surgery, health services and social services on site. Canolfan Goffa Ffestiniog is based in Blaenau Ffestiniog, in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park (North Wales).
Blaenau Ffestiniog is a great place to live and work because of its amazing location and views, due to its rich mining history and it is easy accessible by car to Betws y coed (20mins) and Conwy (40mins). There is a huge range of places you can live, either in the Rural town of Blaenau Ffestiniog, or if you did not want to live quite so rural, Conwy and Colwyn Bay are around a 40min drive away.
This family friendly town is in an easy driving distance to number of great state and independent schools, a college that offers a huge variety of courses at varying levels, and a University nearby (Bangor).

As part of the Health Board's strategic collaboration with Bangor University, individuals with an interest in teaching and research who can demonstrate and agree a possible contribution to the School can be considered and nominated for recognition through the University's process for granting honorary titles and help to deliver our shared vision for the North Wales School of Medicine and Health.
The practice is already a well-established GP Training practice and is now extending this to include a range of MDT professionals and students. The Training Team will also include non-medical professionals including a Pharmacist and Nurse. The Team will work collaboratively to deliver the range of training, education and skills enhancement opportunities at the practice
The job plan will included protected / dedicated sessions for the clinical and educational supervision of a small cohort of trainees, this will/may include Medical Students, Physician Associates, Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioners and GP Trainee, don’t worry if you aren’t a GP Trainer we will support you to become one.
This is a portfolio role and we would also be looking for the successful applicant to undertake clinical sessions in the practice, we welcome applications for full and part time hours but are looking for a minimum commitment of 2 days per week as a clinical supervisor as you will be looking after our medical students in the first instance.
