GP Receptionist / Admin
Job description
St Brycedale Surgery is a four partner GP Practice based in the heart of the community, located centrally within the beautiful Kingdom of Fife, with easy access to the cities of Edinburgh, Perth and St Andrews. We are an east costal town with the beach being just a 10-minute walk away.
Our ethos is to provide the best possible primary care services to our patients in an efficient, friendly and sympathetic manner. Therefore, we are looking for someone to join our reception/admin team, who you will find, welcoming, friendly and whom will go out of his or her way to make you feel part of our team. We expect the successful candidate to have caring and welcoming manner and have empathy for our patient’s needs. It is essential that they have a positive approach to their work, when dealing with our patients and interacting within the team. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is confident when working in a very challenging and busy environment.
Required Skills:
The successful candidate is required to be organised, pro-active and have a sense of responsibility. They must be able to communicate confidently and effectively within the workplace and be able to work well within a team as well as being trustworthy and capable to be able to work on their own. The ability to work accurately under pressure is essential.
Duties:
Duties will include all reception/admin work to assist the smooth running of the practice. Signposting patients, assisting patients with appointments, prescription requests, general enquiries etc. Assisting and communicating effectively with our multidisciplinary team.
Competency in using GP clinical systems would be advantageous. Previous experience working with the public is essential and a medical background would be preferred but is not essential.
Hours: 37 HOURS PER WEEK (Flexibility required during our opening hours of 8am-6pm and a requirement to work one extended hours shift until 7pm on a rotational basis.)
