Government Relations Officer
Populous is looking for an experienced Government Relations Officer to support our growing business in Riyadh. You will be an experienced GRO with excellent, established relationships across government ministries, and a solid understanding of local employment laws and best practice. You will support the General Manager and UK-based HR team to ensure the smooth and effective running of our Saudi office. Responsibilities will include:
- Manage all aspects of our company presence in KSA to ensure compliance and effective administration.
- Manage government portals such as ETIMAD, MUQEEM, QIWA, MUDAD etc
- Maintain all licences and registrations including CR, Tax, GOSI, Saudiization etc
- Manage financial payments
- Managing all aspects of immigration for our employees and their dependants: iqama issuance and renewals, dependant visa applications and renewals, exit and entry visas etc
- Assist with business and other visa applications including preparing official invitation letters
- Maintaining accurate document and audit trails as required by governmental agencies
- License renewals, visa applications, exit and entry visas
- Advising management on HR matters, KSA employment matters and best practice
- Attend government offices as required
- Assist with other tasks as needed including vehicle registration, employee document
- Keeping across new regulations and practices across government ministries and employment laws
- Managing financial payments, preparing official invitation letters
- Supporting the UK HR team on all aspects of HR for the Riyadh office
- Building relationships with key government departments
Skills, Background and Experience
- 5-8 years minimum experience in Government relations, with an excellent understanding of the laws and administrative procedures of relevant Government ministries
- A solid understanding of iqama and visa procedures
- A solid understanding of KSA employment law and practices, including best practices for organisations operating in similar spaces
- Proactive, collaborative, and flexible. As an emerging office, it is important that you are able to identify and fill gaps, and actively participate in tasks in order to support its smooth running
- Great interpersonal skills, able to build strong relationships both internally and externally, and to manage sensitive situations professionally and diplomatically
- Trustworthy and reliable, able to handle sensitive data and maintain confidentiality
- Great attention to detail and focus, with excellent time management skills
- Able to manage competing priorities in order to meet deadlines
