Job description
Are you an excellent communicator who wants to make a difference? Do you want to help us create a great company culture?
We are looking for a Governance Officer to help us implement processes and systems that support a culture of good governance across the organisation.
Dogs Trust is the largest dog welfare charity in the UK with a nationwide network of rehoming centres and charity shops. Last year, Dogs Trust centres cared for over 14,000 dogs; we never put a healthy dog down.
Championing best practice and raising good governance awareness across Dogs Trust, you will support and coordinate the implementation of governance strategy through implementation of new risk management tools and drafting new processes and policies. For example, developing our organisational compliance register or refining our policy development process.
You will also be playing a key role in assisting our Council, ensuring their access to relevant tools and information while also supporting the organisation of council meetings and the annual general meeting.
With significant experience in supporting a charity or not-for-profit at the board level you will possess excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to work well under pressure.
A law degree and interest in the charity sector is desirable. An ICSA qualification would be helpful but not essential.
