Background:
The External Relations (ER) department was created in February 2020 and is comprised of 3 main but complementary functions: Private fundraising, Communications and Policy & Advocacy. The main objective of the department is to enable this organization of more than 12,000 staff to have the resources needed to continue serving 18 million people worldwide in places affected by war and disaster, shape the humanitarian sector by influencing key policies and reforms, and build and grow IRC’s reputation. The Global Web Analyst will be a critical partner to the External Relations and Marketing Technology teams! The analyst will drive the analysis of IRC websites with the overall goal of growing our revenue, profile, and brand for the IRC.
Major Responsibilities:
- Partner with ER partners from multiple markets and Marketing Technology to translate broad questions into analysis that will inform website content, design, and strategy. Share findings across markets.
- Build and maintain custom critical metric reports to include wholistic view of website performance; support in the development of targets and benchmarking.
- Be a data storyteller: synthesize analyses on web data and survey results to translate data into meaningful narratives to help team better understand user behavior.
- Work with partners to optimize website visitor pathways and UX to improve donation conversions or other call to actions. Conduct funnel analysis and identify points of friction where visitors may be falling off the most.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous learning and optimization by leading measurement strategies and analyzing A/B tests on website.
- Collaborate with Marketing Technology team on Google tag management, event tracking, and testing.
- Partner with digital teams to explore search engine optimization (SEO) opportunities, keyword strategies and other insights, ensuring better distribution of our content through search.
- Collaborate with fellow analytics colleagues to promote standard methodologies in coding, statistics, and general analysis.
Demonstrated Skills and Proficiencies:
- Curiosity and willingness to explore sophisticated and ambiguous problems and deliver practical insights through both quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
- 2-3 years of professional experience with SQL and/or advanced Excel
- Professional experience with web tools (i.e., Google Analytics, GA4, Adobe Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Search Console)
- Exposure to Google tag management concepts
- Experience with A|B testing tools like Optimizely, LaunchDarkly, VRO, VWO, Crazy Egg etc.
- Desire to work in a multi-cultural environment and collaborate with people from different backgrounds and experiences, with a stakeholder-first approach to interacting with partners.
Areas you will grow:
- Experience in non-profit fundraising
- Knowledge of web tracking event tools like Snowplow, Amplitude, etc.
- Understanding of statistical concepts such as significance testing, sample size and power calculations
- Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or other business intelligence tools
- Exposure to R, Python, or Stata.
Working Environment:

Compensation:
Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
