What To Expect
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who has an extensive background automotive technical training. The Global Technical Training Specialist will provide development and delivery of a training framework which includes material development, delivery, co-ordination, progress tracking and recording of apprentice and skilled team member competencies. The successful candidate will be responsible for cascading Jaguar Land Rover Global Apprentice training to Jaguar Land Rover apprentices.
The successful candidate will have the ability to assist with the technical and personal development of the apprentices, in order for them to be ready for life at Jaguar Land Rover.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Manage, develop and deliver the required training material and environment to support the learning and development of apprentices and skilled workers in-line with JLR Trainer Accreditation methodologySupport the Apprentice assessment Centres for recruitment
Manage, develop and deliver the required training material for refresher training, in all areas of the workshop
Contribute to the Project Management of the development of training content and material (e.g. updated competencies, training courses, online learning modules, assessment processes) using in house resources ensuring training strategy and standards are delivered.
Support with planning, management and delivery of Apprentice training calendars
Provide support to coordinate offsite functional/specialist training.
In conjunction with the Compliance team, initiate/support continuous improvement initiatives on workshop processes, documentation and adoption of new training practices.
Delivery and publication of Single Point Lessons, Local Procedures and Work Instructions – i.e. W.E.S’s, together with an understanding of COSHH, Risk assessments and local audits (SBI / Environmental & work process).
What You Will Need
Essential:
Knowledge of automotive technical training techniques and methodologiesRecognised automotive qualification in automotive repair
Knowledge and experience in the development and delivery of training material to enable application of practical skills.
Experience in a training, support, coaching or mentoring role with the ability to provide evidence of previous people management experience.
Good Numerical and I.T skills e.g. Google Doc’s, Microsoft Office / Excel
Must recognise safe working practices, including Health & Safety and environmental regulations
Desirable:
Knowledge and experience in component repair / replacement on automotive vehiclesKnowledge of workshop processes and tooling
Experience of working with service suppliers and knowledge of NVQ Units development competencies
Knowledge of assessing apprentices ideally possessing A1 Assessors qualification or equivalent.
Certificate in Education or other equivalent teaching qualifications.
