Job description
The Global Process Owner (GPO) is responsible for a key ESH service, from end-to-end, including across boundaries between the ESH team and key KPMG partners, including Audit Risk, Ethics & Independence and Technology groups. Your remit is to understand the process, the Audit user experience of it as expressed in feedback, and to drive changes across team silos to increase efficiency, innovation and ensure a positive user experience.
This is a key role in helping the business to achieve our vision of being the most trusted audit firm, by our regulators, the businesses we audit, investors, the public and our people.
- Owning an allocated ESH service, from end to end.
- Understanding all elements of the service, including perspectives of all stakeholders, such as Auditor users, ESH staff and leadership in other aligned functions, and wider business leadership.
- Exploiting customer feedback to address any identified issues and remediate any observed shortcomings.
- Driving increases in efficiency and effectiveness of the service, from end to end, and across functional silos.
- Acting as a senior reviewer for the service, ensuring that work completed by staff meets the prescribed standards.
- Ensuring the service remains up to date and compliant with any relevant guidance issued by Audit leadership.
- Working closely alongside the Hub manager, Continuous Improvement Manager, Risk and Quality lead, Operations lead and any aligned Engagement Support Assistant Managers (ESAMs) to ensure seamless and high-quality provision of support between the offshore and onshore elements and ensuring there is 'one team'.
- Developing strong, trusting and credible working relationships with leadership in other departments, particularly Audit Risk, Ethics & Independence, KPMG Clara Workflow and Clara Technology teams(Clara is KPMG's workflow tool), and other key business stakeholders where applicable.

Experience and Knowledge Requirements
- Previous experience of working in an Audit business.
- Previous experience of delivering audits as an auditor.
- Knowledge of core processes relevant to the specific GPO role, e.g. client and engagement risk assessment and auditor independence rules and processes
- Experience in leading a cross-functional team.
- Experience of performance managing teams, coaching and mentoring junior staff.
- Strong working experience of KPMG IT systems and workflow tools, such as Microsoft Dynamics, Sentinel, SAP.
- Experience of working with an offshoring centre or an outsourced provider.
- Experience of data analysis and reporting.
- IT literate with intermediate level knowledge and experience of MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint and Word).
