Global Materials Planner – 9 month Fixed Term Contract
GSK have an exciting opportunity for a Global Materials Planner to join them on a 9-month fixed term secondment. This role is ideally based at GSK House but location may be flexible. As a Global Materials Planner, you will gain central planning experience, working in a dynamic enterprise supply chain team and interacting with a range of cross-functional stakeholders. To thrive in this position, you will need to be an effective communicator and skilled at building relationships both internally and externally.

Role Purpose
This role sits in the API Planning organization within General Medicines Franchise Planning. In this role you will be managing planning activities related to sourcing of key API’s and materials from our Internal and External network.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure an appropriate 24 month+ inbound materials supply plan for the therapy, agreed by sites, suppliers and procurement
  • Provide input to create a consolidated demand signal into the Procurement and/or External Supply teams, to provide visibility for a minimum 2-year horizon for strategic purchasing processes
  • Manage orderbooks and share forecasts with suppliers, ensuring adherence with contractual terms and spend/volume commitments
  • Inventory Management - recommending stock policies for APIs in scope, working with supply chain leads to identify saving opportunities and ensuring endorsed strategic stock polices are maintained (internally and VMI)
  • Contribute to the operational supplier relationship management process, including monthly / quarterly reviews and supporting strategic supplier reviews with procurement;
  • Generating KPI reports and support supplier performance management. (e.g. Monitoring OTIF, adherence to planning parameters, adherence to contractual terms, overall working capital performance versus targets.)
  • Ensure security of supply of APIs through effective management of relationships with suppliers, good understanding of changes occurring in the network and establish robust processes within the GSK network to manage API demand and supply.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to resolve operational challenges
  • Represent planning in regular governance forums (SCRM, SCIM, PQTS), presenting risks/opportunities and communicating mitigation strategies to influence stakeholders and support enterprise decision making
  • Participate in performance improvement projects with sites and procurement to improve service / working capital e.g. VMI

Basic Qualifications:

  • Degree qualified in an appropriate business or technical area
  • Pharmaceutical/FMCG experience
  • In depth knowledge of supply and demand planning
  • Direct experience working in supply chain / material management / planning
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Supply Chain Processes and Systems in a business environment
  • Strong Excel Skills
  • Experience in using SAP for planning purposes
  • Analytical skills to effectively interpret data to review and recommend action to resolve supply chain challenges
  • Ability to build and maintain an excellent working relationship with key stakeholders
  • Experience of working across a complex matrix organization

Preferred Qualifications:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • A qualification in a supply chain related discipline such as logistics, supply management, demand management, operational management etc.
  • Experience of building relationships with 3rd party suppliers/CMOs based on trust to deliver performance
  • Ability to pull together and lead multi-functional teams to solve complex supply chain problems and present solutions in a concise and easily understood way
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to deliver business objectives
  • Have a continuous improvement mindset to drive and deliver better business outcomes
  • Experience of working on digital technologies such as QlikView and Power BI
