As the Global Human Rights & Sustainable Supply Chain Director, you will be an experienced specialist leading our human rights and sustainable sourcing programmes for natural raw materials programme, embedding these with our Procurement teams to help deliver our Sustainability Ambitions across each Global Business Unit (GBU).
This role has full responsibility for our human rights and sustainable sourcing programmes, working to continuously develop and deliver these to assure and enhance Reckitt’s due diligence, compliance, and reputation in these areas, corporately, for our brands and supply chain, and contributing to our broader Sustainability ambitions.
Key accountabilities:
- Leading the development and implementation of Reckitt’s human rights policy within our global value chain, taking account of significant existing and emerging human rights risks and engagement with key stakeholders including consumers, investors, customers, and regulators, with the potential impact and opportunity for Reckitt’s brands.
- Leadership of the natural raw materials team, with responsibility for key programmes in palm oil, latex and dairy, key natural raw materials, engaging procurement teams to aid delivery through and with suppliers and within various external partnerships.
- Leading an extended, global team of specialist human rights and environmental compliance assessors covering a wider range of suppliers.
- Leading the development and implementation of supplier environmental performance improvement programmes, an important aspect in delivering our climate change commitments.
- Developing and co-ordinating Reckitt’s human rights and sustainable souring activity, including formal regulatory reporting under the Modern Slavery Act and emerging new policy requirements.
- Developing and leading global partnerships with key opinion leaders and sector experts on human rights and sustainable sourcing to aid delivery of our programmes and engagement to amplify impact.
Professional experience & personal attributes:
- Senior technical leader with excellent influencing, communications, and stakeholder engagement skills, commercially aware and credible at all levels of the business and with internal & external stakeholders.
- Strong supply chain understanding and experience, with an ability to engage and lead the agenda through diverse teams and functions (i.e., technical, procurement and brands) on shared agendas.
- Demonstrable FMCG experience, (preferably within global supply chains) building credible supply chain programmes to enable brand equity, trust, and engagement with stakeholders across an extended and trusted network.
- Strong external stakeholder network to draw on and engage with to strengthen programmes, engagement, and partner with for impact.
- Experience of leading a diverse team of technical experts and external stakeholders.
