ABOUT ZENOBE
Our goal is to make clean power accessible, to accelerate the shift to zero carbon power and transport.
We’re transforming grids to enable the take up of more renewables, electrifying fleets for cleaner air, repurposing electric vehicle batteries for clean portable power and using proprietary software and data analysis to optimise operational performance for our customers.
We have 225 MW of operational and under construction grid scale battery capacity and over 30% of the UK’s EV buses, and are expanding our operations in Australia, New Zealand, US and Europe. We’re a rapidly growing company looking for talented people to join us.
THE OPPORTUNITY
From its start up in 2017, Zenobe has doubled in size each year and our scale up journey continues at pace globally. With its new Head Office base in London Embankment, we are growing rapidly in Australia/New Zealand, Benelux and more recently the USA.
With an excellent team in place covering HR, Talent, Facilities and Business support, we are now looking to introduce a new role of Global Director of HR to help drive the business to the next level in our evolution. Working closely with the Founders and the senior leadership team we are looking for a dynamic, experienced, commercial HR leader to create, and execute measurable leading edge global people strategies that will enable our sustained growth and market position and deliver value adding results.
A TASTE OF THE DAY TO DAY
- Effectively act as a strategic business partner to the Founders, Senior Leadership team and Board
- Create, gain buy into and implement a global people strategy including all strategic topics, the employee journey and the global work environment.
- Lead the development of the Zenobe leadership team and the people agenda in this forum including facilitating the strategic planning process
- Lead the short/medium- and long-term headcount planning and organisation design process to ensure that Zenobe has an agile evolving structure which ensures that;
- we have the right capabilities and talent in the right place at the right time
- the Founders are free to focus on strategic leadership and growth
- Work closely with the Founders/COO to ensure that everyone has line of sight in their role /goals to the strategic aims/KPI’s and objectives
- Set the global compensation & benefits strategy and ensure that equity and bonus plans are well designed and drive the right behaviours and culture
- Lead and implement initiatives to preserve the positive Zenobe culture as we grow including establishing and embedding the Zenobe Values, and leading employee engagement surveys initiatives
- Establish a strong Learning and Development culture and drive initiatives to support including a Leadership and Management Development and coaching programme
- Lead major change programmes on global basis
- Lead ESG initiatives
- Support the HR and Talent teams globally, ensuring we continue to attract retain, and develop our talent.
- Continue to drive forward employee engagement
- Present to the Board as needed on the People Strategy
- Act as Secretary to RemCo and ensure all aspects of Remuneration and the RemCo remit are well supported and governed
- Represent Zenobe at external events

- CIPD Level 7 Qualified
- 12 Years + Experience providing broad based HR support to senior leadership and employee’s covering employee relations, workforce planning, compensation & benefits, HR policies and performance management
- Demonstratable experience of strategic HR leadership, delivery and outcomes within a high growth, high profit environment
- Experience of working within global scale-ups
- Ability to still work on a ‘hand’s on’ basis with a pragmatic approach
- Experience within leading a USA start-up through to scale-up
- Passionate about our wider mission and creating a strong people culture as we continue to scale
- Ability to interpret data and translate into actionable insights and actions
- Ability and proven track record of key stake holder management at Exec/ Board level
- Ability to influence and communicate effectively
- Ability to hit the ground running and lead new challenges, executing in a light touch and agile way
