Background
GTFS is a global team supporting all Securities Services (SSv) products and is accountable for the Trustee, Depositary and Fiduciary proposition for Asset Managers and Owners, and the design and operation of the business models to support this. This role will report directly to the Global Head of Securities Services.
Role Purpose
Member of the SSv Management Committee and responsible for representation of all aspects of GTFS key business targets to be met.
- Develop and execute a strategy for GTFS that is aligned to SSV strategic priorities.
- Drive and develop GTFS proficiently from a financial and non-financial resources perspective ensuring activity is efficiently located in the Operating Model.
- Enhance standards across all GTFS teams to drive efficiency and effective service.
- Evaluate org design and structure to align to the requirements of clients, the overall business and industry standards.
- Drive digitisation and scalability of the business on an ongoing basis.
- Maintain and enhance product offering ensuring all regulatory requirements are considered.
- Pro-active manage the risks of the product while considering the respective internal and external environment and risk appetite.
- Ensure internal (eg IT, Operations, Procurement) and external (eg. software vendors, 3rd Party suppliers) interlocks are in place and functioning for budgets, commercial contracts and service delivery.
- Represent HSBC in the respective industry groups and committees and influence initiatives on our clients and on our own behalf.
- Works closely with the Product Heads, Sales Teams, Account Management, Regional and Country Management, Technology and Operations to ensure high client satisfaction and to provide a seamless and state of the art service.
- Drives all governance and is aligned with Group practices. Senior point for escalation for Audit and all GTFS risk related matters
- Promotes an environment of inclusion, diversity, collaboration and trust within the Group, helping teams to define the plans and to remove their barriers to delivery.
- Motivate, drive and provide leadership to a team across 13 locations. Provide hands on direction, mentoring and coaching to those involved in the team

Management of Risk
- Responsible for effectively managing financial and non-financial risks within the approved risk appetite of the business. Responsible for the continual assessment of operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructuring and the impact of new technology.
- Demonstrates compliance with HSBC Bank plc Group standards, manuals and policies and adheres to the defined work practices, internal controls and risk management standards associated with the role.
Observation of Internal Controls
- Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
