POSITION SUMMARY:.
The Global Direct Procurement Manager is responsible for the efficient and effective procurement of active pharmaceutical ingredients, chemical raw materials, excipients, components and packaging to support Indivior’s commercial Products, as well as for specific New Product Developments (NPDs). This includes global ownership and oversight of specific supplier relationships and performance. The individual will also be responsible for the market assessment and selection of new CMOs (Drug Substances and Drug Products) to support Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) and late stage NPDs in readiness for commercialisation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Ensure effective management of strategic suppliers with view to building long term strategies
  • Identify and develop action plans in support of the overall strategy.
  • Implement and lead Global strategic sourcing activities in partnership with relevant functions (eg. Supply, Quality, Manufacturing, R&D, Regulatory)
  • Ensure the on time and quality supply of all active pharmaceutical ingredients, excipients, components, devices and other raw materials for commercial manufacture at our Indivior and external supplier locations.
  • Independently manage and develop supplier relationships, to ensure security of supply, supplier performance and innovation
  • Measure performance against specified criteria, i.e. supplier performance metrics, Financial quarter COGs assumption analysis, PPV reports, and milestone plans.
  • Support delivery of NPD/EPD projects, taking ownership of all commercial aspects, including the market assessment and selection process for new CMOs (Drug Substances and Drug Products).
  • Independently negotiate, maintain and renew supplier contracts. Collaborates with Stakeholders to support planning, budgeting and risk management activities for their functions.
  • Duties involve applying sound contracting principles and practices coupled with procurement guidelines, business policies and procedures.
  • Manage sourcing transactions to ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Design, implement and maintain accurate and reliable spend and savings reporting with respect to projects and suppliers.
  • Deliver projects that support Supply objectives, e.g BCP projects, second source suppliers etc
  • Manage and reports supplier performance as it relates to cost, service and quality.
  • Ensure compliance to all company policies and government laws.
  • Initiates RFPs / RFQs, analyses bids, negotiates for best and final offer and awards bid packages.
  • Work directly with project team members, suppliers and contractors to define project requirements and scopes of work, requests for proposal and bid submittals.
  • Develop and execute strategies and tactics to source and commit procurement.
  • Work with legal and functions to initiate agreements, evaluates contract terms, adherence to agreed upon scope of work and follows through to signed execution.
  • Support project team activities aligning procurement activities and project timelines.
  • Prepare routine procurement reports as required.
  • Achieve financial targets and meeting business and category objectives.
  • Continually identify new opportunities for cost reduction across their portfolio.
  • Analyse spend areas to identify and manage vulnerability to the business and to strive for continual improved quality of supply.
  • Develop and execute robust Business Continuity Plans
  • Professional, prompt and proactive handling of all issues and projects within the portfolio, both internally and externally.
  • SAP: Maintain specific raw materials pricing and raise occasional indirect POs
  • Manage and drive relevant change control projects identified by Supplier(s) or Indivior,
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: MSc/BSc
MMINIMUM
Field of Study: Life Sciences, Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Business or other related fields.
MMINIMUM
Experience Minimum 6 years of procurement or sourcing experience in Direct spend categories including active pharmaceutical ingredients, excipients, packaging, components and contract manufacturing (Drug Products) services within the pharmaceutical or similar industry.
License/Certifications: Professional certifications relevant to Supply and Procurement greatly desired.

  • Strong change agent with proven ability to manage long cycle projects.
  • Strong financial analysis and negotiating skills.
  • Change management experience. Able to identify and deliver transformational opportunities successfully.
  • Experience with management and drive of cross-functional projects, including the use of structured change controls processes and tools.
  • Extensive knowledge of procurement strategies, tactics, negotiations and contracting skills.
