Global Contract Services Prime Services and Prime Derivative Services Negotiator
Glasgow, Birmingham
As a Barclays Global Contract Services Prime Services and Prime Derivative Services Negotiator, this is an exciting opportunity where you’ll produce, negotiate and execute various capital markets contract documentation in our Global Contract Services team. You’ll support the Prime Services and PDS businesses of Barclays with an assigned portfolio of Barclays counterparties.

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. We’re flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances
- Facilitating the prime services trading business by drafting, negotiating and executing capital markets contract documentation
- Covering a wide portfolio of work, ie: ISDA Master Agreements and Credit Support Documents, Global Master Repurchase Agreements and Global Master Securities Loan Agreements
- Conducting independent legal analysis and managing relationships with external counsel
- Liaising with Sales, Trading, Credit Risk, Compliance and Operations on documentation and associated guidelines and procedures
- Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with senior stakeholders of the firm including Managing Directors and Directors
• Substantial experience, knowledge and understanding of the suite of prime services agreements, the Financial industry and Legal roles
- Bachelor’s Degree (no specific area)
- Substantial experience of financial services negotiation experience of prime services agreements
- Competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, OutLook, and PowerPoint
• Can demonstrate expertise in a suite of prime services agreements and have an ability to pick up legal and commercial concepts quickly
- An ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both written and oral communications and able to tailor the approach to the audience and the situation
- An ability to effectively manage a challenging and changing portfolio on a dynamic basis
