At EssenceMediacom, we have worked closely with Shell for over 20 years, and the relationship has continued to evolve and grow with this key global client. Our role as the global team spans many responsibilities and disciplines, including client leadership, governance of our network of local markets, strategy, media planning and buying, digital leadership and excellence and global operations.
Our global account team is made up of 15+ people, working across client leadership, governance, strategy, planning, and implementation. Execution is run with the support of our Media Solutions teams who manage search, social and programmatic operations.

About your role as Shell Global Account Executive
The Global Account Executive will play a crucial role within the shell global team, working primarily on Shell Brand, to support in delivering impactful pan-regional campaigns and govern local agency teams. The Global Account Executive will report to the Associate Director on Brand.
This is a client-facing position that requires strong relationships both with the global clients in London and internationally, coupled with collaborative partnerships with local teams in EssenceMediacom offices, and across the EssenceMediacom network. The Shell account is truly global, with teams and markets covering EMEA, NA, LATAM and APAC.
The Global Account Executive will be for building rapport with the global clients and local agency teams, including taking active involvement in regular status meetings and ad-hoc meetings. Time management and prioritisation will be key, to ensure the AE is able to respond to client requests and project briefs with speed and accuracy. The AE will be required to support the Digital Account Manager and Associate Director on key projects as required, including supporting on end-to-end planning of pan-regional campaigns from brief to post-campaign reporting.
Success will require the ability to toggle between seeing the bigger picture – and the forensic detail of financial and competitive data reporting. To achieve these objectives, The AE needs to be an excellent team player, with proactivity, enthusiasm, and a commitment to learn.
Key Responsibilities
Support the wider team on regular deliverables and and ad-hoc projects- Ownership of financial and competitive reporting workstreams
- Key POC between central and local agency teams
- Ensure accurate financial reporting both centrally and from local market teams
Objectives of the Role
Client Service
Regular contact with Shell Brand clients, building rapport
- Active involvement in weekly client status and ad-hoc meetings
- Respond to client requests with speed, accuracy and enthusiasm within agreed deadlines
Account Co-ordination
Key POC between central and local teams in multiple markets, able to build positive relationships- Support Digital AM and AD on ad-hoc projects and workstreams as required
- Ensure financial accuracy through management of budget tracking, spend reconciliation and regular reporting
Research & Insight
Compile research and insights for communications strategy on upcoming campaigns- Regular delivery of competitor spend and analysis using industry tools
- Gain a strong understanding and proficiency with industry and proprietary media research tools to support with projects and campaigns
Planning
Support Digital AM on end-to-end pan-regional campaign management- Coordinate with channel specialists to manage plan development and campaign activation
- Maintain a solid understanding of the vendor landscape to be able to identigy the best solutions to respond to briefs
Summary of requirements;
This is an entry level position so we are looking for someone with drive, enthusiasm and commitment to learn. Experience in a media agency desirable but not essential
