Why this job matters.

In this job, you’ll be accountable for using methodical Data science techniques to measure performance and influence change.

You’ll be working closely with marketing squads to successfully apply these techniques in a range of domains and use your analysis to inform business decisions. You will mine and analyse big data sets using data science techniques, and deliver appropriate outcomes for the business, whether analysis, modelling and/or recommendations.

What you'll be doing:

  • Use methodical Data science techniques to select and tune algorithms and quantify performance in a business relevant way
  • Tell engaging stories using non-technical language and exciting visualisations to influence change
  • Execute experiments to quantify the performance of algorithms in both digital and physical domains and test business hypotheses
  • Mine and analyse big data sets, leveraging data science skills and techniques to deliver business benefit.
  • Be able to put to use exploratory analysis methodologies to identify patterns and trends to use with the right statistical methods (clustering, PCA, regression, significance testing).
  • Feel confident extracting and manipulating data from our various data stores and storage framework and sources
  • Work with descriptive and predictive analytics (e.g. linear regression & propensity models, customer segmentation, data mining and trigger identification) of the mobile and converged customer base.

Skills and experience you'll need:

  • Experience of using machine learning frameworks
  • Experience of predictive models
  • Background in analytics and statistics
  • Skills in Python and/or R, SQL
  • Programming skills
  • Strong work ethic with particular emphasis on accuracy, attention to detail and timeliness
  • Collaborative attitude and an ability to share expertise with colleagues across the business
