Expectations
We are a vibrant and growing club, with a focus on developing as a performance sport within Scottish and student rugby. Looking forward to the upcoming season, we are looking for a self-driven and committed individual to work flexibly with our Head, Assistant, and Strength & Conditioning Coaches to develop programmes for new players and assist in their progression to competing athletes. Our new assistant development coach will be integral to the continuation of our 2nd XV team during the upcoming season, with an aim to hire an additional development coach within 2nd half of the upcoming season.
During the main university season starting September 2023, we train 4 times a week, with 2 gym sessions (Monday morning and Friday afternoon) and 2 outdoor sessions (Monday and Friday), with Wednesday as our main game day. We have occasional Sunday games scheduled, mostly for our 2ndXV team. As a development coach you would be expected to attend both outdoor sessions and Sunday games later in the year. Our season runs from September 2023 – May 2024.
