We’re looking for a Geographical Information Systems (GIS) Technician to join our Highways Applied Digital Services team based in Birmingham or Exeter to provide professional support and solution development services to GIS projects across the business. Responsibilities
As a GIS Technician, you’ll provide GIS services such as data analysis, processing, and display of outcomes in meaningful and understandable ways, such as on maps, graphs, charts and spreadsheets. Undertake Project work as directed by the GIS Manager and GIS Team Leader.
Your day to day will include:
- Assist in the GIS and data management for the projects across the wider Kier business, ranging from Infrastructure to Highways
- Assist in the advancement of GIS solutions for projects worked on by the GIS Consultancy Team
- Provide a dedicated GIS resource across projects worked on by the GIS Consultancy team
- Actively promote Health and Safety in the workplace, setting a good example to other employees and ensuring awareness of and compliance with general Health and Safety responsibilities as set out in the Health and Safety Management System
Who are we looking for?
This role of GIS Technician is great for you if have:
- Experience using a range of the ESRI ArcGIS Products across desktop, server/web and mobile devices
- High level of IT competency, experience with all Microsoft Office packages
- Able to prepare maps, reports, and other relevant information to stakeholders
- Extremely high attention to detail with the ability to work to tight deadlines
