UTEC NCS Survey is a division of UTEC, specialising in 3D asset management software solutions, land surveying, laser scanning, photogrammetry and telecoms services.
UTEC NCS Survey are currently looking to hire a Geospatial Assistant based in the Central Belt of Scotland on a full time, perminant basis. The successful candidate will provide support to the Surveyors in the delivery of topographic & utility surveys within their region. The successful candidate will ideally be a school or college leaver or a candidate looking to change career into the Geomatics/Survey sector.
The Geospatial Assistant role is the first step on the career path to becoming a Surveyor, successful candidates will be given every opportunity to develop their skill sets and improve their career prospects.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Conduct all company business in a professional manner
- Responsible for setting up and operating all surveying equipment
- Assist and liaise with the Surveyors & Senior Surveyors
- Responsible for maintaining/cleaning of all the surveying equipment
- Ensure that all surveying kit is maintained and well kept
- Responsible for assisting Surveyors in carrying out topographic surveys, utilities surveys, setting-out etc
- Responsible for maintaining/cleaning of all the surveying equipment
- Ensure that the cleanliness of survey vehicles is maintained
- Ensure that the internal administrative documentation is completed as required
Requirements
- Good educational background at school leaver level as a minimum
- Clean driving license desirable but not mandatory
- Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- PC literate - able to use word processing and spreadsheet packages
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to perform tasks and achieve results with a high degree of accuracy and precision
- Preferably hold a valid passport free from status or restrictive conditions that preclude travel to and work in countries where the Company routinely operates
- Copes well under pressure to achieve deadlines
- Flexibility/adaptability
- Enthusiasm and resourcefulness
- Able to work away from home for up to 2 weeks at a time
- Able to work outdoors throughout the UK
