Where you fit in

The group of fields this team is working on are now playing a very significant part of the groups production and a growth area on a global scale. The successful applicants would be flexibly deployed to support various geo-scientific activities across such assets.

What’s the role?

You will be responsible for the Production Seismology work content and quality in assigned asset/s. You will contribute to reservoir prediction, optimally locating development wells with accurate predictions of their HC drainage and associated uncertainties. You will ensure full seamless integration with the other subsurface disciplines, particularly with Production Geology, reservoir engineering and surface as appropriate. Ensure the transfer to and acceptance of the work by the customer. Taking responsibility for seismic interpretation and integrated team deliverables.

  • Seismic processing and interpretation: Geophysicist will need to analyse seismic data – quality upgrade through analysis during ongoing and final processing project deliveries and then interpret key reservoir and overburden surfaces and assess impact on GRV and reservoir architecture. Analyse different processing products and extract relevant geo-scientific information from available data sets. You will be interpreting Narrow to Full Azimuth data sets and will be actively involved for 4D acquisition (planning/execution) and 3D/4D processing projects to do all interpreter’s QC needed.
  • Model Building: Supply inputs for static model build/rebuild; structure, gross rock volume uncertainty and seismic characterization inputs for reservoir characterization.
  • Quantitative Interpretation (QI): Working knowledge of QI and Inversion required to work with SME and ensure best outcome of inversion update on seismic data and inclusion in geo-model.
  • Governance: Support governance activities, including Audits, business reporting.
  • Well operations: Geohazards and geophysical well positioning aspects evaluation and pre-ballot assurance of development wells. Multi-disciplinary prognosis and evaluation of well results including materiality checks.
  • Field production behaviour analysis: You will interpret existing and upcoming 3D/4D data and provide appropriate insights for reservoir model constrains.
  • Digitalization: Support on-going digitalization initiatives with analysis and creative contribution.
  • Data management: You will ensure the integrity and quality of Geophysical and Production Geosciences data in the corporate databases in line with corporate standards and procedures.
  • Facilitate frequent communication with peers, such that opportunities for synergy and transfer of technology are realized.
  • Advise on planning, progress and quality of Production Seismology work and contribute to overall technical and economical evaluations of Exploration and Production opportunities.

  • Strong and well-rounded geophysics skill sets covering aspects of production seismology.
  • Versatile in the application of seismic interpretation and static reservoir modelling techniques to a range of reservoirs and integrated reservoir problems and skilled in the range of activities from well planning to field development planning, together with operational experience.
  • Strong knowledge of different seismic attributes and extraction of seismic-geologic information from such analysis is required.
  • Understanding of seismic acquisition and processing. Experience in streamer/OBN acquisition and processing and velocity model building.
  • Preferable good understanding of geological concepts at both a regional & field scale. Well-connected to exploration activity.
  • Influencing skills across operated venture, non-operated venture and joint venture settings. Experienced interfacing with multiple operators/partners.
  • Able to timely deliver high quality, self QC’d, well documented technical work.

  • Well versed in geophysical aspects of (fractured) carbonate reservoirs, including seismic interpretation, use of advanced geophysical methods to inform carbonate reservoir quality, depth-conversion and GRV range evaluation.
  • Can demonstrate knowledge/experience of dealing with complex seismic-imaging and depth-conversion challenges with a variety of seismic imaging products (e.g.; Kirchhoff, RTM, LSRTM etc.) and seismic acquisitions (full to narrow azimuth).
