Job description

Up to £27,000 DOE

About us:
Health Services Laboratories (HSL) is a progressive partnership between The Doctors Laboratory, Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust (Royal Free London) and University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH).
Our purpose is to deliver medically-led diagnostics, innovation, value and long-term investment to healthcare. We combine The Doctors Laboratory’s long standing, specialist pathology expertise with the Royal Free London and UCLH’s internationally recognised heritage of continual research, development and academic excellence. We maintain rigorously high standards of quality, whilst also delivering efficiencies to healthcare through careful workforce planning, pioneering technology and significant investment in infrastructure and IT.
About the role:
An opportunity has arisen in the Genetics Department in the Halo Building. This lab processes a wide range of samples for genetic testing, including non invasive prenatal testing (NIPT).
We provide an efficient world-wide service for a wide range of molecular disciplines. The laboratory uses cutting edge diagnostic techniques and attention to detail is essential.
The successful applicant will be responsible for receiving samples into the laboratory, entering demographics onto the Laboratory Information System (LIM system WinPath), organising and distributing samples to the appropriate areas. Administration experience and interest is preferable although laboratory experience is not necessary.
You will receive, and where necessary, act upon, incoming calls to the laboratory and communicate with clients, either by phone or email, to resolve any discrepancies or omissions on assay request paperwork. They will be familiar with an administration environment and be able to work to SOP’s.
Working hours range from 8:30 – 17:00 or 9:00 – 17:30, Monday to Friday (37.5 hours), though flexibility may be required.
A competitive salary and benefits package reflecting the responsibility of this role and the experience of the applicant will be offered. Further information about our organisation can be found on our website, www.tdlpathology.com.
The laboratory is situated in central London, has full UKAS accreditation and offers a pleasant working environment with excellent staff facilities.
