Job description
Neural Pathways is currently seeking an experienced therapy assistant to work alongside our Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists
Neural Pathways is an award winning neuro-therapy service which takes pride in building bespoke rehabilitation programmes for clients. We work with clients with a wide range of neurological conditions to include:
- Acquired brain injury.
- Spinal Cord Injury
- Stroke
- Neurological Degenerative conditions such as MND and MS
- Polytrauma clients to include orthopaedic injuries.
- Upper and lower limb amputees
Our clients predominantly have a medico legal case on going, but we also work with clients who fund their own rehabilitation. We are known for our client centred values and for offering highly skilled interprofessional rehabilitation. Our therapists are encouraged to think outside of the box, to work innovatively and holistically to deliver life changing sustainable outcomes.
We see clients both in the community and in our own gym that has state of the art technology
What you'll be working:
- Working 3 days a week
- 22.5 Hrs per week
- Monday to Friday
What you'll be doing:
Job Purpose
- To work as part of the rehabilitation therapy team providing rehabilitation to a client group.
- To provide support and assistance to qualified therapy staff clinically and administratively.
- To ensure the highest standards of quality and efficiency of rehabilitation.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:

- To undertake treatment or part treatment for clients under the guidance of a qualified member of staff
- To develop the ability to safely work unsupervised, using initiative and problem-solving skills whilst staying within agreed levels of competence.
- To report back information and observations relevant to client treatment and maintain timely and accurate client records.
- Be able to recognise own limitations and respect appropriate professional boundaries.
- Seek advice and support as appropriate, actively participate in clinical supervision and on the job training.
- Always behave in a professional manner, portraying a positive and empathetic approach to all clients and their families/carers.
- Work alongside relevant healthcare professionals and other agencies, showing respect and consideration for varying points of view.
- Abide by all agreed policies, protocols and standards relating to clinical practice
What you'll have:
Essential
- General level of understanding of disability and / or rehabilitation
- Experience of working in a team / healthcare environment
- Access to your own car
Desirable
- First degree level qualification and / or training previously as a therapy assistant, psychology graduate
- Good knowledge of computing – including windows operating systems, MS office (Word & Excel)
- Experience of working within the disability field
- Experience of working with therapists
