About The Role
To provide a general surgical service necessary to meet the needs of patients under the care of our Treatment Centres. We are flexible on working days, ideally looking 2 - 3 days a week covering our hospital in Ilford and in Gillingham.
There is no on-call commitment, but you must be prepared to access patients urgently in person on the unit as requested by the RMO on duty during routine working hours. You will be expected to provide cross-cover for colleagues during periods of absence, including for example annual leave and study leave.
About You
You will have full and specialist GMC registration as well as experience of working in general surgery, especially laparoscopic procedures (hernia repair and cholecystectomy). As part of our professional, friendly and compassionate team you will do everything you can to ensure the patient’s treatment is of the highest standard whether NHS or privately funded. Reporting to our Hospital Medical Director, you will provide a full range of surgical diagnosis, treatment and care to inpatients, day patients and outpatients who require general surgery.

In this role you will participate in the audit, research and management of the services and may be allocated responsibility for the clinical supervision of junior medical and clinical staff.
