About this job
The Head of the General Secretary’s Office requires an administrative assistant to help co-ordinate and support work relating to the duties of the General Secretary and Assistant General Secretaries.
The post holder will, as part of the team, help to support responsibility for the administrative management of all procedures and processes affecting the management of the union as they relate to the most senior officials of the union and the effective implementation of UNISON’s objectives and priorities.
This role will include tasks such as processing incoming and outgoing mail, queries by email, phone or letter, data input and retrieval and work closely with all functions of the union; such as the union’s National Executive Council, senior management, all national departments and regions.
The post holder will need to be able to work in a team environment and provide administrative support to the wider team when required.
The post holder will have a varied work load in this small focussed team delivering the highest possible standards of service, accuracy and support in accordance with our policies and the legal requirements on confidentiality.
With your excellent communication and IT skills, the ability to organise your own workload, manage pressure and priorities, you will enjoy varied work with the chance to develop your expertise.
