The Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust have another opportunity
which has arisen within the Facilities Directorate for a full time General
Porter to join our dedicated facilities team in portering. To provide an efficient, effective and fully comprehensive portering service across Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury.
We are looking for lively and enthusiastic individuals that have excellent
interpersonal and communication skills who are well motivated and
hardworking and able to work as part of our team.
Previous experience of working within a healthcare environment would be
advantageous but not essential as training will be provided.
The General Porter will be a multi-skilled person working with a team. To be responsible for maintaining a comprehensive professional and responsive high quality porter service to patients, staff, visitors and all service users.
To undertake the movement of patients, equipment, documentation, linen,
waste etc. in an efficient and safe manner. Maintain a clean and safe
environment in accordance with the specification and be responsive to
service needs as they arise and constantly seek to improve the productivity
and quality of the service.
Undertake necessary duties to ensure that an efficient portering service is
maintained. These duties will be carried out both in patient and non-patient environments.
All work must be undertaken in line with Health and Safety, Infection
Prevention, Security and all Trust Policy and Procedures.
Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust is a large acute hospital Trust in the county of Kent.
The Trust provides a full range of general hospital services and some areas of specialist complex care to around 500,000 people living in the south part of West Kent and the north part of East Sussex.
The Trust’s core catchment areas are Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells and their surrounding boroughs. We work from two main clinical sites: Maidstone Hospital and Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury. Tunbridge Wells Hospital opened in 2011 and provides single rooms with en-suites for all in-patients – the first of its kind in the country.
