Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a General Street Lighting Operative to join our Living Places business unit to work in Boldon
Role Purpose:
- Required to work within the Street Lighting Team on the North East PFI contracts and supporting works carrying out of reactive, emergency and operational activities;
- Utilising knowledge and experience to ensure that contracts are completed on time and to a high standard in accordance with good Health, Safety and Quality standards;
- Required to work on all aspects of street lighting installation and maintenance within the Sunderland, South Tyneside and Third Party Teams alongside existing operatives .
What you'll be doing
As a General Operative you will:
Compliance:
- Work within a culture of Zero Harm – embedding the 4 Golden Rules within all aspects of service delivery;
- Report all observations – Close Calls and Good Practices;
- Compliance with all statutory and company procedures across all the functions, specifically H & S;
- Develop and maintain good working relationships across all teams;
Technical / Operations:
- Ensure Tasks are completed on time and to and to the required standard .
- Work with with ops. to install street lighting columns ,signs and cables.
- Assist with emergency work .
- Utilise the effective use of plant, equipment or machinery;
- Be responsible for your own site safety and compliance .
- Work at height for which training will be given .
- Ability to think or themselves and also work as a team
Service Delivery:
- Carry out all reasonable work instructions;
- Work to all company and safe working procedures .
- Support the emergency service provision – in and out of hours if required .
- Contribute to the overall profitability of the services providing through effective use of resources.
Customer Service:
- Provide customer service in construction;
- Be an ambassador for Balfour Beatty at all times.
