We are looking for a General Manager to run Llanishen Leisure Centre, one of eight centres in the Cardiff Partnership. We pride ourselves on being the UK’s largest leisure provider and we continue to grow. So, if you have experience of managing busy wet and dry leisure centres, and a passion and dedication for driving sales, join us as a General Manager and play a key role in the next step of our journey. Bringing ambition to match ours, this is your chance to lead a large flagship facility and develop a talented team at the heart of a leisure sector leader. The successful candidate will also manage Penylan Library & Community Centre, a dry side facility that includes a 2 court sports hall, gym, and community rooms.
Our aim is to make an active and healthy lifestyle accessible to all. As General Manager, you’ll have a big part to play in that, as you focus on shaping a clear strategic framework to deliver our operational and financial targets – all whilst forging even stronger links with our business and community partners. It’s a role that offers huge variety. So, as well as enjoying a hands-on management role, some of your time will be desk-based, as you ensure compliance and support the administration involved in running a busy leisure centre
What you’ll do:
As a General Manager you will focus on driving the business of the centre forward, ensuring both Health & Fitness and swim school targets are hit each month; managing current block bookings ,and attracting new business; ensure the budget is achieved or surpassed.
The position requires somebody who can balance the commercial needs of a large turnover centre, with maintaining a strong community-focused customer service, and working closely with our partners who include the NHS.
The existing team at the centre are very strong and have excellent relationships with their customers, and the new General Manager will need to continue to nurture this team to continue to deliver this. They will also need to understand the structure at Penylan Library & Community Centre and its shared use of the building with Cardiff Council who operate the library.
We are a social enterprise and pride ourselves on our string links embedded within the local community
As a leader within the leisure industry we can also offer scope to progress your career, and job variety like nowhere else.

Continuing your strong track record of achieving big business objectives, product growth and excellent customer service, you’ll be a real people-person with a leisure degree or equivalent experience, and deep knowledge of leisure centre operations hold NPLQ, PPO (desirable), Pool Management Qualification, FAAW qualifications. A dynamic individual with experience of driving sales and being pro active in achieving sales targets would be an advantage.
