The Position:
Reporting to the General Manager, we are looking for a hospitality professional to ensure a high-level of consistent execution to drive excellent experiences for all guests, building tenants, employees, vendors, ownership and additional key stakeholders.
General Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the General Manager to ensure the service and food and beverage experience at (JACX LLC) exceeds guests’ expectations.
- Engages with guests and educates them about Food Hall vendors and upcoming programming.
- Handles all guest concerns and complaints professionally and further communicates these to the General Manager.
- Provides a daily update on guest interests, interactions, and feedback to the General Manager.
- Guides guests in the right direction depending on the guests’ interests in specific cuisines and products of (JACX LLC).
- Supervision and modification of the training program for all new hires.
- Participate and lead daily pre-shift meetings to discuss shift related issues and provide the staff with the necessary information.
- Manage scheduling, payroll, and all other administrative tasks.
- Address employee performance concerns by adhering to established procedures for progressive discipline and counseling.
- Conduct regular employee training as needed.
- Perform daily walkthrough of all areas and be vigilant of any maintenance issues and report to the appropriate department and follow up to ensure completion.
- Ensure that Food Hall storage facilities and other areas are maintained, organized, and hygienic.
- Daily entry and review of information in managers’ logbook that is relevant to operational concerns. Resolve all concerns.
- Performs managerial opening and closing procedures for the restaurant, private events & all other Food & Beverage outlets based on standard operating procedures.
- Inspect all table set-ups, ensuring cleanliness, neatness, and proper placement always.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness in all areas of Food & Beverage and working condition of departmental equipment and supplies.
- Schedule staff members at proper staffing levels; watches labor costs daily to ensure efficiency in scheduling.
- Review daily reports from P.O.S. system.
- Review daily vouchering of invoices for proper expense distribution, purchase order support, and approvals.
- Check attendance and create monthly reports for HR
- Prepare weekly operating reports as required by restaurant and ownership.
- Supervise inventory record keeping and participate in monthly inventory.
- Research and develop new leads for event business and manage client venue relationships.
- Build and implement event strategy for JACX, including budgeting, processes, partnerships, and programming.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local partners in the LIC community.
- Invite clients to the Food Hall for entertainment, lunches, tours, and site inspections.
- Liaise with the corporate marketing team to bolster promotional efforts.
- Ensure that events progress seamlessly by following established procedures, collaborating with employees, and ensuring accuracy.
- Participate and lead regular meetings to inform staff about upcoming events, client needs, and VIPs.
- Respond to incoming event sales opportunities for the Food Hall. Identify, qualify, and solicit new business to achieve revenue goals.
- Design, develop, and sell creative events.
- Interact effectively with vendors, competitors, local community, and other departments in order to maintain guest satisfaction.
- Execute exemplary guest service to drive guest satisfaction and loyalty.
Skills & Qualifications:
- 7-10 years of hospitality experience in a high-volume environment
- Experience managing and overseeing teams
- Effective, clear and concise in both verbal and written communication
- Great attention to detail in both independent execution and the supervision of others
- High-levels of emotional intelligence to ensure success in guest relations and people management
- Resourceful and efficient in all tasks with an expert ability to determine priorities
- Strong critical thinking skills to solve for root cause
- Organized and timely with the management of multiple tasks at any point in time
- Action oriented with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team
- Onsite presence is required for this position.
The base compensation range for this role is $90,000 to $100,000. This role is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, as well as access to our comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, life and disability insurance, 401(k) plan (with matching contributions), wellness benefits and all other benefits afforded to full-time Tishman Speyer employees.
This base range reflects a number of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skill sets, and/or licensure required of an individual in this particular role. The base range is also specific to members of Tishman Speyer’s New York team, as we’ve considered factors specific to this geography
