Are you looking for the chance to lead a fast paced, high profile Distribution Centre where there is a real opportunity to make a difference?

Reporting to the Group Supply Chain Director, the General Manager will be integral in leading, delivering and driving continuously improved performance in our fast moving omnichannel Distribution Centre serving our retail stores and eCommerce customers.
Based in Hemel Hempstead, you will be responsible for the overall operational, financial and people performance on site, alongside the development and execution of the business plan against customer, financial, internal business process, people and H&S policies.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Oversee a warehouse operation of 200+.
  • Lead, inspire and develop the leadership team on site and promote core values and high performance throughout the operation.
  • Ensure quick and smart decision making, viewing the impact of these decisions on the entire business, making sure commercial and customer needs are met.
  • Demonstrate agility in order to manage the ever changing needs of the site and customers.
The Successful Applicant
As the General Manager you will live within a commuting distance of our Distribution Centre in Hemel Hempstead and demonstrate the following experience:
  • A proven leader with previous experience at General Manager or site leadership role in the FMCG environment or equivalent, ideally with a mix of eCommerce and retail.
  • Warehouse Management System (JDA Dispatcher) knowledge and experience
  • Excellent operational knowledge and understanding of specific customers, systems and procedures.
  • Direct experience of P&L management and budget ownership.
  • A strategic and continuous improvement approach to operations management.
  • A commercial approach to tackling operational challenges.
  • Demonstrable experience in engaging and coaching large teams through direct and indirect reporting lines.
  • Excellent communication skills.
