A Day in a Life of a General Manager
Reporting to the Director, the General Manager (GM) is accountable for managing and providing leadership for assigned site-based operations to ensure optimal quality of care and customer service satisfaction through implementation of regional and clinical policies and Community Engagement Strategy
The GM oversees the operational and administrative activities in an effective and efficient manner to ensure clinical operations are delivered immaculately. The GM will also be accountable for the site’s operating budget and adherence to the Direct Care Hour (DCH), as well as participation in marketing initiatives to meet the occupancy target.

What You Bring to The Role:
- Completion of undergraduate degree in health sciences or related field, plus 7 (seven) years’ recent related experience, including two (2) years in leadership role; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- A current registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCSNM) as a LPN or RN preferred
- All successful applicants must pass the vulnerable sector Criminal Record Check applicable to Provincial guidelines.
- Knowledge of Residential Care Licensing Act and Occupational Health and Safety with ability to plan, organize, and direct the community’s operations.
- Innovative, creative thinker, and multitasker
- Customer service oriented and understanding of the needs of seniors
- Effective conflict resolution skills and ability to maintain effective interpersonal and team relationships
- Proficient with Ms. Office and email applications and able to read, write, and verbally communicate effectively in English
